How does GIV protect customer information?

Your order is secure because we have contracted with Authorize.net for our on-line commerce.  We use Secure Sales Server technology (S3) on every transaction that we process.  This technology utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology.  The transmission from our server forms a matched pair with the transmission from your computer, so that only data to and from these sources can be valid.  If you are using Netscape 1.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 1.0 or later as your web browser, your transactions are fully encrypted and secure when you make your purchase.  You'll know that it is secure when you see a full yellow key in a blue box in the lower left-hand corner of your Netscape browser or a full "lock" in the status bar if you use Explorer.  If you use another type of browser, you'll still be able to place an "un-secure" order if you choose to do so. 

What about "cookies?"

"Cookies" are small pieces of data that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive.  Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but they do enable us to store items in your shopping cart between visits. 

Will GIV disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
